Iolite sunstone is one of those stones that refuses to look the same twice. This one moves from deep blue to violet depending on the light, with darker patches and little flashes hiding inside.
I set it in sterling silver with chunky little prongs and gave it a double band with a bit of texture. It’s substantial without being bulky, and the darker finish works really well with all that moody blue.
Basically, the stone does most of the work here. I just gave it somewhere nice to live.
